Today’s Tuesday Tidbits was originally going to be a wrap up of Thanksgiving, but in the hustle and bustle of the actual meal prep I did not take any “finished” pics. I can tell you that things went exactly as planned (ahhh…I don’t get to say that often, so I’m going to enjoy it for a moment). My mother and aunt helped me get everything out while the dishes were hot and ready (thank goodness). In a last minute decision, I decided to scrap my original centerpiece ideas for all three tables. Instead I used huge wood cutting boards as a centerpiece and loaded them high with three types of bread for our meal. I added butters and jams to each board, as well. It was great because it was one less item our guests had to pile onto their plates in the buffet line and it looked nice. Form meeting function is my absolute fave! Next time I do this for a centerpiece I will definitely remember to snap a pic…it was SO easy and pretty!

These pics are the morning of Thanksgiving before I really had everything out (meaning: I was still sane enough to grab my phone).

The smaller island was used for desserts…which worked perfectly.

And I took this pic by complete accident…but shockingly it actually shows the larger island that I used as our buffet.

By that evening, I had everything cleaned, swept, mopped, disinfected and back to a blank slate. And….ready to start CHRISTMAS!!!

Speaking of Christmas, I received an invite from one of our neighbors to attend a wreath-making class at Fernwood last week. Fernwood is a botanical garden and nature preserve located right here in Buchanan, MI. It’s always been a beautiful place (that is open to the public year-round…check their website), but they recently completed a huge education center that can be rented out for various events. I got to be part of the first group to use this new space and it was amazing (bonus: I got to meet several new people)! I took a few pics on my drive in (because it was SO stunning) and they had a photographer taking some pics throughout. I was not paid or requested to say anything, but if YOU get invited to an event (or want to host your own event) be prepared, this space was gorgeous!

And just like that we are completely into Christmas. I’ve spent most of the weekend recovering from hosting Thanksgiving and pulling out Christmas decor. I’ve just started and will share more later!

Have a wonderful week and thank you for following along!
