Another week means another Tuesday Tidbits filled with lots of mini-projects on the house (getting ready for the holidays). Since we are hosting Thanksgiving, I decided to leave the fall decor up through that holiday. I’ll probably take it down on Thanksgiving evening and start placing Christmas decor. I found the gold pumpkins (pic above) at Hobby Lobby on sale and bought a ton of them to use for simple table decor on Thanksgiving. We will probably have 3-4 long tables in our dining area for the number of guests we have coming. As you can see in the pic below, getting the photo I want often requires deleting all the ones that have Niles walking into them. He just can’t help himself.

A few years ago I found these tiny turkey votive holders and I’m telling you, they are one of my favorite little decor pieces. The legs move and they just make me smile.

I have been in the basement priming and painting the new trim. I’m extremely hopeful that we will be able to get this installed this weekend (please, please please!).

This trim is an exact duplicate of the original trim. It’s hard to get a grasp of the size, so I placed my hand in the pic to help you out.

Trent has continued to organize the garage and he is getting close on that one. Which is good, since we are apparently going to have an early arrival of winter.

As of yesterday, our newest sofa arrived. I haven’t gotten it into the spot I think it should be in (although that may change 3 times in the next week). But it is a gorgeous sofa that I can’t wait to start using.

I also had the ability to take a couple of days last week and head down to my family in Gatlinburg. It was a super short trip, but the Great Smoky Mountains National Park does not disappoint. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you are looking for a fun, beautiful and extremely affordable place to vacation…this is the spot.

Have a wonderful week and thank you for following along!

Those Turkey votive holders are really cute. The size of the trim is huge. It will be beautiful when it is all in place. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

I like your fall decorations, just right, not too many. The trim looks good and is coming along. I used to work in a pattern shop and know how difficult these things are to make. It took a real craftsman to accomplish those intricate curves and he can be proud of his work. Now, I’m wishing that my garage looked half as nice as yours and hoping that soon Niles will visit and approve….

Gatlinburg has changed so much since I was a kid. Pigeon Forge literally was empty fields. Still love Gatlinburg though. Those turkey votives are so cute but my cats would have been on that ledge and knocked them off hundreds of times by now…lol.

Love the new sofa. How many turkeys are you fixing for all those people?!
