Another Tuesday Tidbits and we are SO excited that fall is in full bloom here in SW Michigan!! The view (above) is from our master bed. It’s the most amazing yellow/orange/red hue outside.

We have continued to work on the garage. There are still more cabinets to go and we have to stain the cabinets…but it’s coming along. Almost all of the heavy duty shelves (that were in the garage) have been moved to the basement for additional storage.

And yes, those are pink, white and teal plastic crates from my 1980’s bedroom in the 6th grade. Those suckers last. Forever! They just don’t make ’em like they used to.

We have inside basement stairs, but the original exterior stairs are so convenient for this type of messy job. We believe (after a little research) that the exterior stairs were probably the only original stairs into the basement. Interior basement stairs were not (probably) added until a few decades later. I refer to the exterior cellar-styled stairs as our “Wizard of Oz” stairs…Trent thinks I’m silly!

On a completely personal note, Trent and I took some time last weekend and went to the Garth Brooks concert (with all the other crazy people)! It was fun and insane all at the same time!

We are also spending part of our spare evening time watching Season 2 of Making A Murderer…Niles is less than thrilled and tries to make sure he is the center of our spare time.

And tomorrow is the big day for Buchanan. It’s Halloween! If you live in the area and don’t have a great trick-or-treating spot, our town is it! It’s so much fun and so amazing. This is from last year, but you get the idea. So. Many Kids. So. Much. Fun.

Have a wonderful week and thank you for following along!

Perhaps you have said, but do you have a generator?

Your bedroom window looks like it could be a beautiful stained glass image with the brilliant colors showing through. Outside stairs to basements are a nice way to get things in and out of seasonal storage. Our daughter has one at her home in Pennsylvania and has to be mindful of small critters wanting to make their homes there. Niles probably thinks “where there’s light, there’s warmth” I’m sure.

    Ain’t got no rain barrel,
    Ain’t got no cellar door
But we’ll be jolly friends, forever more
