As you can tell from the above pic, we are all STILL enjoying the clean windows. Even the morning sunrise from our master bathroom has a pretty view! (Although I’m pretty sure the skylight windows are going to be filthy again within the week.)

In completely unrelated news, the late summer morning sun hits our family room light fixture just right and throws these beautiful prisms on the wall…which drive Niles crazy!

Now…on to a very different topic. Something we have never done before on the blog: a GIVEAWAY! Every other blogger does a giveaway with a gift card or shopping spree somewhere. Sorry to disappoint but that is not what our giveaway is like. We have this amazing vintage pedestal sink that came from the basement bathroom of this house. We thought we might use it somewhere, but we didn’t. We considered keeping it for another future project, but we decided on this giveaway. It is pretty amazing, but we think someone else might be able to use it sooner and better than we can. Feel free to share this blog post with anyone you know. The pedestal sink has no name on it (I searched high and low for a brand). The sink is stained, but otherwise in very good shape. I have NOT tried any cleaning products on it. The faucets and stopper look cool….but that’s all I know about them. The sink is 30 inches high, 24 1/2 inches wide and 20 1/2 inches deep. To quote Trent, “that thing looks exactly like the old ones in the movies.” That’s about the best description I can come up with.

Here are the giveaway rules:

  1. Leave a comment on the blog, Facebook or Instagram about WHY you want this sink. (Are you working on a project? Do you want to rehab a bathroom and use something vintage?) Make sure that you can be reached by your comment (Facebook or Instagram obviously have your name, leave your email on the blog comments).
  2. This sink is currently at our home in Buchanan, Michigan. You must be able to come and pick this item up or send someone local to pick it up. We will not ship it.
  3. We will select who receives the vintage sink based solely on your comments. It doesn’t matter if we know you or you are a complete stranger (all can play). We will not give this to a family member. So, for the 8 family members who follow our blog…don’t play. You are off limits.

We will announce the winner next Tuesday. If (for some reason) you don’t want to publicly state why you deserve it, please feel free to send a PM on Facebook or Instagram.

Have a wonderful unofficial last week of summer and thank you for following along!

Are friends off limits too? As you know, I’ve been pondering what to do with my 70s contempory decor but it didn’t occur to me that going older might look better than newer! As always, I’m inspired by your decor.

We had one like that in our bathroom when I was a little girl. I don’t have a need for it but I’m sure it will make someone very happy.

Don’t want the sink, but Niles can come visit anytime.

I have porcelain accessories, soap dish, towel bar, toothbrush holder, etc, from my in-laws remodel, 56-60 years ago! I think they are beautiful! They would go well with that sink! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
