As we are just about ready to wrap up (completely) the interior of the home, I thought some of the numbers might be interesting for you to know during this Tuesday Tidbits.

Sheets of drywall: 340

Framing nails: 7,850

Square footage of hardwood floor: 2,900

Heating/cooling vents: 34

Outlets: 150

Light switches: 72

Kitchen cabinet pulls: 54

Recessed lights: 52 (still counting as we may add a few more)

Chandeliers: 9

Exterior doors: 9

Faucets: 10

Tubes of caulk: 79 and counting (if I never touch another tube of caulk it will be too soon)

Every once in awhile someone will ask how many man hours we have logged working on the house. While we could technically do the math and get pretty close, that just seems depressing. So, we stick with our usual answer: a LOT and we have no intention of figuring out the exact number!

We are starting to survey the exterior porches and trim to figure out exactly what our plan is for the exterior work. And then we plan to stalk the weather forecast to try and avoid the week with 90 degrees and hopefully hit the week with 70 degrees. Have a wonderful summer week and thank you for following along!

Just wondering if, when you walk down the stairs every morning, do you pause and smile at the view? I find it breathtaking.

You forgot to mention the number of staircase spindles.

Those numbers are staggering, all for a well worthwhile cause though. I work on old cars and don’t like to look at man-hours either, and you are right in saying that it is depressing. Enjoy your summer….

What is the square foootsge if your home per floor and garage?? Another number, just curious. Inside looks huge but from outside not so much. That’s why I’m curious.

The inside of the house is just under 5,000 sq ft (not including the full basement). The garage is right at 1,800 sq ft.
