Hello friends and welcome to another Tuesday Tidbits! This week has been a little more normal…or at least our new version of normal. While we still had a couple of nights away with work trips, things have settled into a new groove and it’s very nice. We managed to do our day jobs, work on some of the minor projects still looming on the inside, while still having some fun evenings. The perfect balance! We know once the weather changes (for real…none of this almost-spring stuff) we will start moving with the exterior work. Until then, we are enjoying the lull.

As you can see, we added to our exterior lighting over the garage doors. The lights match what is around the entire house and we will eventually add them to the backside of the garage as well. This particular project only took a couple of hours, so it was perfect. Plus, lighting adds such a nice touch to any house (seriously – if you are wanting the biggest bang for your buck, just add some good lighting).

The interior of the house is ever-so-slowly starting to look a little more lived in!

We were able to have some friends over for dessert this past weekend and we learned something new about our house. Due to the high ceilings, huge spaces and hardwood floors, the sound of three young boys running through our home is loud. Really, really loud. Trent and I just turned to each other and laughed! We never would have considered something like this. These particular boys were in our home throughout the renovation phase and would you believe that they walked right in and remembered exactly where the “hidden” doors to the scuttle are located. They wasted no time getting themselves into our secret tunnels! Who knew we had such built in entertainment?!

Most evenings our home looks just like this. Office light is on (doorway to the right) as one of us is in there working with the kitchen having some set of lights on. It feels very soft at night and we both love it!

Have a wonderful week and thank you for following along!

The outside lighting looks very nice and as you say, adds so much. Enjoy your lull time and this first day of spring….

I absolutely was thrilled to see the ghostly shadow of the dining area chandelier reflecting on the large wall. It was as if the past was edging in on the present.

Add a little spark of accent color. Just a little.

Everything looks so peaceful, that is without little boys running in the house! 😉
