Exactly two years ago yesterday, we purchased our home and notified the world (well, we notified the social media “world”). The pic of the house on January 29, 2016 (above) feels like a lifetime ago. It seems fitting that we are just about ready to move in…not done by a long shot…but able to move in. We will continue to document and keep up the Tuesday Tidbits during the transition and as we start working on the exterior. I have NO clue what we will do after that, but we are here for the foreseeable future.

I posted a photo of our master shower this past week (the lights were the final addition), but Trent and I realized we missed something. Not something important, but something we never even considered but now we can’t get it out of our minds! We totally should have heated the bench seat like we did the breezeway tile. It was doable and we never even thought about it. Until I sat on the shower bench and said “it’s going to be cold this far from the two shower heads.” The lightbulb went on for both of us. Suffice to say, we are adding it to our list of things we should definitely do in another house. I mean really…who wouldn’t want their backside warm while sitting in the shower?!?!

Speaking of the breezeway heated floor: it’s complete. We hooked everything up and it works!! Which is good since we have no idea how we would fix it. The tile gets nice and toasty (depending on where you set the thermostat) and I’m confident that our cat will believe we did this solely for him. And we sorta’ did. But not really. Well, maybe.

The windows have been cleaned on the inside – like really cleaned. Sadly, they still look filthy because we’ll need to clean the outside of the window, the inside of the storm window and the outside of the storm window…but that’s going to wait until spring. So, if you pass by our home and notice the gross windows…we know. We are on it. The only thing left to do in the dining area are threshold pieces at each door. Which is why we have rolled up sheets in front of them.

And, in case you missed it our favorite local reporter (Kristin Bien with WSBT) did a story on our home yesterday for the news. The clip is on our Facebook page.

Lots of fun stuff happening this week and weekend that may resemble some furniture and a few window treatments!

As always, thank you for following along and have a wonderful week!

Anxious to see what you do with the windows, I can’t begin to visualize the coverings but I know they will be beautiful.

I enjoyed the trip through your beautiful house with your favorite reporter 🙂 It’s nice seeing the photos you post each week but following the camera through gave us a better visual. Thanks and continued good luck with your upcoming move in date.

Thank you for the update and the photo of the house “as was” in 2016. Is there a chance that the slab can be removed to retrofit a heating set up in your shower area? Hope so and have a good week…..
