Ahhhh…the weekend is finally here. We are through Halloween and looking towards Thanksgiving. And we just might be moved into this house by Christmas! For all of you that have stated how sad you will be once this project is done (and you have no blog posts to read), fear not! Just because we are moving in does not, in any way, shape or form mean that we are finished. We have a long way to go! So relax…we aren’t going anywhere!

For our Friday Favorites we wanted to share a little of this past week. Tuesday was Halloween and if you follow on FB or IG, you know that our little town of Buchanan, Michigan does Halloween big. Really big. Trent and I know that this holiday has changed over the years, but if you ever want to feel like you just stepped back into a Norman Rockwell painting, you should come to Buchanan on Halloween. It’s magical. There are hundreds thousands of kids and parents on the streets. The mood is just pure community and everyone is having a wonderful time. Some of the homes have their front yard/porch decorated so it’s almost a mini-haunted house. Small businesses are handing out candy/toys. Parents are stopping for fun photo ops in front of the scarecrows with the kiddos.

This is the calm before the storm. Just a perfect fall evening.

The moment the clock strikes 6pm, the masses appear! So much fun!

One of the best, most creative costumes we saw was this family (I asked permission to post, but did not get their names). If you are a Stranger Things fan (like us) you will agree that this is genius!  FYI: look closely at the little girl…she is Eleven and clearly has nailed the stoic expression!

Our candy was exactly the right amount! And this year we made sure to have non-candy for the ones who can’t have sweets.

I’m already planning for next year and maybe…just maybe…I can convince Trent that we need to dress up for Halloween. It would be so much fun!

For now, we are back to the main floor trim and casing. Scraping, painting, installing, filling, caulking, re-painting. And looking forward to the next holiday!

By the time you are reading this, I will be in New York City! Trent decided to stay back to keep things moving on the house while I’m in the city with some family and friends to run the marathon (on Sunday). It was a “divide and conquer” decision. I’ll post throughout the weekend on FB and IG, so feel free to follow along. And I’m certain I’ll have a little to share about it on next week’s Tuesday Tidbits.

As always, thank you for following! Have a wonderful weekend!

When my children were young, I dressed in costume and handed out candy at the door. The next year they wanted to stay at home with me and hand out candy too. It IS fun to dress for the holiday as adults. I love the work your doing in the house….it is really beginning to come together. FANTASTIC!
