The staircase is almost fully finished! The major items have been completed, but we have a few finishing touches to still get around to. If I were a bettin’ gal, I would say we won’t get around to those finishes until after we have moved in. #priorities

On Saturday I decided to pull up the floor covering, sweep the floors and recover all the hardwood flooring.

  1. It took so much longer than I expected. A ridiculous amount of time.
  2. Once I got the old covering torn up and swept the new floor, Trent and I realized we never saw the wood floors totally finished. As the floors were being finished, we covered them up to protect them during the installation. We never got the full effect. Needless to say, we are pleased.
  3. Unfortunately, we covered the pretty floors up immediately. They won’t be seen again until we move in.

The balusters appear very dark in my pics…but they are solid antiqued nickel. Here is an up close shot to give you a better idea. I know you are all thinking just how jealous you are of the weekly dusting chore I have in front of me!

Thank you for following along! We have more exciting tasks this week and should have some fun changes to share next week. Have a wonderful week!

Your home is amazing! Thank you for sharing. As for the dusting part, use your blow dryer and let the dust fall!
