Well, it’s time for another Tuesday Tidbits and once again (shock…I know) we have been busy. Everyone has heard the saying “if you want to test your marriage, build a house.” And as a Realtor, I know this to be true. I’ve had many clients build and it is tough work! However, I would say that if you really want to test your marriage, completely gut and remodel a home. An old home. Like super duper old. And do a lot of the work yourself. But this week I believe I have a new saying (that might actually catch on…never):

If you want to see how close you can come to starting World War III, just decide that you and your spouse are going to grout 3 fully tiled bathrooms including shower walls, sloped shower floors, drains and actual bathroom floors.

Yes, we survived and so did our marriage! But only because we had a very realistic moment at about 8pm on Sunday evening when we admitted defeat. We work fast together, however this task was simply going to take a few more days. We didn’t actually have a reason for getting this all done NOW, other than we want it done.

The main level guest bathroom is about 75% complete and I love the corners. Trent decided to add the extra trim piece of tile and it just looks perfect. It was NOT fun to grout – but boy it looks good.

The upstairs guest bathroom is 100% complete and Trent decided to snap this pic as I was finishing up the floor.

The upstairs bathroom is complete with tile work. We will add large marble pieces to any edge (where the green is still showing).

The master bathroom (which we somehow forgot its massive size) has the flooring 100% complete. Our plan is to get the shower and shower floor done this week. The wood tile turned out perfect and we went ahead and placed the tub.

I’ve mentioned before that I have zero patience. With this in mind, I begged Trent to help me carry in just a couple of the kitchen cabinets. We have too many cabinets to count, but I just needed to see how they were going to look. Just a tiny glimpse! He caved and we carried in a few of our cabinets.

They. Are. Perfect.

I cannot wait to see them all installed! We knew our Amish cabinet maker did a great job, but they are even more amazing than we remembered. Yes! I will share all his info with you in a post very soon. We would recommend him over and over!

The insides of the drawers are incredible! I almost hate to put a countertop on them and cover them up.

And that completes our week. It was busy and tough – but it all ended well! Thank you for following along and enjoy your week!

Thank you for your gift every Tuesday! I absolutely love the flooring on the main level along with those beautiful kitchen cabinets. I hope the young man that helped you with the cabinet colors is still smiling over his suggestion. Love, love, love the wood looking floor in the “bath tub” bathroom.

It’s very hard for me to believe that you have zero patience. Look at all you have done together to make this old run-down house into your beautiful home. Congrats, you both are doing an amazing job. Be sure to reward yourselves with a few breaks and time to enjoy life….

Thank you for sharing the fact that you and Trent are human. The majority of us could not even begin to accomplish what the two of you have done; a little disagreement now and then is expected. Just know that your fan club loves, loves what you have done to this beautiful old home. Cheers!
