Guys, this Tuesday Tidbits is going to be short! The reason is that we are barely keeping our heads above water right now. We have learned in the past that projects hit a point where everything sort of needs to happen at once. It happens every time and yet we somehow seem to forget about this phase until we are in it. I’m guessing we intentionally forget about it.

In the next 3-4 weeks we need to:

Install the hardwood floor for the entire main level

Have the staircase fairly close to completion

Have the fireplaces both completed

Install all the upstairs doors

Install the baseboard upstairs

Finish all the bathroom tiling and grout

As we get ready for all of these big changes, here is where we are this week!

We added these curved edge pieces all around the main floor master. We both love them and think it adds a little extra something.

The second guest bathroom shower almost has all the tile up.

As with other individual projects, we set up our mini-work stations where needed. Thankfully, the subway tile can be cut with the small (less messy) tile saw and doesn’t need the huge wet saw. This little $100 tool has saved so much time on this project.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that we use these buckets for everything! They are lifesavers. Now…anytime Lowe’s wants to start paying me for this promo is just fine:)

While I don’t think we will truly concentrate on our landscaping until the house is done, I plan to add a few things in the next couple of weeks. Partially, because it’s the time of year where I just want to plant something and partially because I would love to get some things started so they aren’t “brand new” when we get around to the landscaping. I was in my parents’ neighborhood last week and noticed a shrub that had the most beautiful red flowers. My parents did some digging (get it?!) and learned it was a Quince shrub. They went out and found one for me and I believe I have a good spot for it. You can’t tell right now, but it is absolutely stunning in the spring!

If you happen to see us out and about in the next few weeks, please disregard our hazed over faces. It’s just the phase we are in and we know finish line is somewhere on the other side! As always, thank you for following along and have a wonderful week!

Are you going to brick/stone over the concrete stairs eventually? I love the tile work.

Is there a particular reason for this 3-4 week deadline or is it self-imposed? That’s a lot in a little time! Love ❤️ following along.

Forgetting about this phase reminds me of forgetting about the intensity of childbirth!

You certainly have a huge list of tasks for the upcoming weeks. Congrats on your new plant, the bright color will go very nice with the brick. Try your best to make your goals, but remember to take time to enjoy your lives…..

We can save you money on the Lowe’s buckets. We throw out about 8 a week at the restaurant. They smell like pickles but can be washed out. Let me know if you want some.
