The past few days have been a little quiet on our project. The truth is that Trent has been working on the house, while I have been on a mini-vacation (it sounds completely unfair, doesn’t it?!). These few days have been about walls and Wayne Newton. Explanation below.

After we got the new front window installed and new siding complete, everything needed to be painted. Trent spent the past several days putting layer upon layer of paint around the new walls of our new window. It looks great and is done for now. As I’ve mentioned before, we will be restoring all the soffit (which is in very rough shape)…but that won’t be until next summer.

I did not do anything because early this week I packed up and headed out to Las Vegas with my mother. We were celebrating my 40th birthday (my birthday was actually 6 weeks ago, but I like to stretch the birthday joy for as long as possible). My parents surprised me with tickets to see Wayne Newton in Las Vegas – so my mother and I went and had the time of our lives!

We are both huge Wayne Newton fans and could not believe that we got to be in the second row from him the entire evening! Not only did he sing and give little snippets into his journey, but he played some of the numerous instruments that he has learned. We had an absolute blast! Here is my sad little iPhone video to give you a small taste of this treat. Enjoy your winter weekend!!

The front window looks great and is in place “just in time” for this change of weather. Glad that you could get away for your Birthday celebration and enjoy…..
