It’s been another busy week for us, but we are excited!!! With any luck, the electric will be turned on this week and we will have lights. With the shorter days, this will be an enormous help for us. We already have most of the light switches and outlets in (we are really ready to have power).

Little trick we learned many projects ago: place temporary bulbs in all the recessed lights. This way we have light, but if something happens between now and finished drywall to crack a lightbulb (which is highly likely) we don’t lose an expensive lightbulb. Plus, we have been using the same temporary lightbulbs for the past 3 projects. #apennysavedisapennyearned

This weekend we took an evening off and went into Chicago with my family…I turned the big 4-0! We had a great dinner and a wonderful time. Yes, that is birthday flan. Don’t judge it until you’ve tried it.

And just in case you ever thought our huge, enormous, bigger-than-life garage was a waste: fear not. Trent is already using it as planned.

If you drive by our place this week and see it lit up like a Christmas tree, you can assume the power was turned on and we are living it up! Have a wonderful week!

Congratulations on your recent birthday. The wiring looks great and I see that you have marked the wiring too which is a great idea. I also like the idea of the temporary lighting in the recessed fixtures, especially for having the bulbs “almost” break-proof. Keep up the good work and enjoy…..
