We hope that you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend! Buchanan has the most charming parade on Memorial Day. We loved getting to hang out with new friends and neighbors watching this event and honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We’ve heard all about the various holidays in this tiny, Michigan town and I believe the rumors are going to be accurate. Pure Michigan!
It took a couple of noisy and messy days, but the roof on the main house now matches the roof on the new garage. More importantly, the house roof no longer leaks or has holes large enough for critters to get in through!
However, that’s not even the best news…ever. The below pic of this “mini” dumpster is the last major dumpster to be delivered to our property! Yes, we will still need to make large trips to the landfill and we will still use one of the small commercial style dumpsters in our backyard. BUT, the enormous, ugly dumpster that has been hanging out in the front yard since February (and being emptied at 5am each week) is just about done. Best. News. Ever. If you are one of our “lucky” neighbors that have randomly been receiving the 5am alarm (courtesy of the trash company), as of this week that is O.V.E.R.
The majority of our weekend was spent getting the new subfloor in the entire house. It’s just about complete and since we left the original subfloor, this will simply add to the sturdiness of the floors (something you can’t get too much of in old homes).
Landscaping starts today and we are ready for it!! More pics and info to come on that very soon. Enjoy your week, friends!
